ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how effective it is for nurses to use ultrasound technology to place intravenous (IV) lines in cancer patients receiving treatment. An IV line is a small tube that goes into a vein to deliver medications or fluids, and using ultrasound can help nurses find the best spot to place it, especially for patients who might have difficult veins. The trial will take place at the National Hospital of the Faroe Islands and aims to improve the experience of patients during their outpatient chemotherapy treatments.
To participate in this study, patients need to be 18 years or older, be receiving chemotherapy, and live in the Faroe Islands. They will not be included if they cannot give consent or have mental health issues that prevent them from understanding the study. If eligible, patients can expect to have their IV access placed by a nurse using ultrasound guidance, which may make the process easier and more comfortable for them. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, so there will be more information available soon.
