ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how often thyroid problems occur in patients who have had an acute coronary syndrome (ACS), which includes serious heart conditions like heart attacks. The researchers want to find out if these thyroid issues can affect the recovery and health outcomes of these patients. By identifying and managing thyroid problems early on, they hope to improve the care and recovery of people with heart issues.
To participate in the study, patients must be diagnosed with ACS, which can include two types of heart attacks known as STEMI and NSTEMI. However, certain individuals cannot join the trial, such as those experiencing severe heart failure (called cardiogenic shock), people with other hormonal disorders, those receiving dialysis, and patients with active cancer or ongoing treatment for thyroid conditions. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but when it does, it will include both men and women aged between 65 and 74. Participants will likely have tests to check their thyroid function and may receive guidance on managing any discovered thyroid issues.
