ClinConnect Summary
The Parent Toolkit 2.0 study is a new program designed to help parents and caregivers communicate better with their middle and high school-aged teens about important topics like sexual health and relationships. The study will involve 1,000 families across Georgia, where parents and their 12 to 15-year-old children can participate together. To join, parents need to be between 25 and 70 years old and live with their child at least half of the time. The program will provide helpful resources, videos, and group sessions over three weeks to improve parents’ understanding of adolescent health and enhance communication with their teens.
Participants can expect to learn valuable information about supporting their children in making healthy choices, such as waiting to have sex or using contraception. The study is not yet recruiting, but it aims to promote healthier behaviors among teens by empowering parents with knowledge and skills. If you think you and your child might be eligible and interested in participating, keep an eye out for more information as the study progresses!
