ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the effects of "cool roofs," which are special coatings that reflect sunlight and help keep homes cooler. The goal is to see how these cool roofs can improve health and living conditions for people, especially those in poorer neighborhoods, where high indoor temperatures can lead to serious health problems like increased heart rate, blood sugar issues, and mental health challenges. By reducing indoor heat, the researchers hope to promote better physical and mental well-being for people living in areas that are particularly affected by extreme heat.

To participate in the trial, you need to be a permanent resident of one of the homes in the study areas, which include cities in Burkina Faso, Mexico, India, and Oceania. Participants must be able to give their consent to join the study. Throughout the trial, participants can expect to help researchers understand how cool roofs affect various aspects of health, such as sleep quality and overall life satisfaction, while also contributing to a larger goal of finding effective ways to combat heat stress in vulnerable communities.
