ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a program called "Are You Ready?" aimed at helping young people aged 14 to 21 who are at risk of teen pregnancy and may be involved in the juvenile justice or child welfare systems. The researchers want to find out if this program can improve young people's sexual and mental health behaviors. Specifically, they will look at whether the program leads to more youth getting tested for sexually transmitted infections, using better coping skills, and having fewer unprotected sexual encounters over several months.
To participate, young people must have had vaginal or anal sex in the last three months, be comfortable reading and speaking English, and be at risk for or involved in the juvenile justice or child welfare systems. Participants will be randomly assigned to either receive the Are You Ready? program in a group session (either online or in-person) or to a control group that will not receive any sexual health information. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it offers a chance for young people to learn important skills that can help them make healthier choices.
