ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the use of new artificial intelligence technology to help doctors diagnose two heart conditions: aortic stenosis (a narrowing of the heart valve) and diastolic dysfunction (issues with the heart filling with blood). The researchers have developed special computer models that analyze electrocardiograms (ECGs), which are tests that measure the heart's electrical activity. These models have shown promising results in earlier studies, but this is the first time they will be tested in a real-world outpatient setting. The goal is to see if these AI tools can accurately identify patients who may have these conditions, especially in places where advanced medical care might not be easily accessible.

To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 60 years old and have a scheduled ECG test. Unfortunately, if you are younger than 59, not scheduled for an ECG, or unable to give consent, you won't be able to join. If you do take part, you can expect to have your ECG analyzed using the AI technology, and if the results suggest you might have aortic stenosis or diastolic dysfunction, you’ll undergo a focused ultrasound to further evaluate your heart. This study aims to improve diagnosis and help ensure that patients receive appropriate care based on their heart health.
