ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how writing Chinese poems can improve the mental well-being of adult volunteers who help people recovering from mental illness in Hong Kong. The study involves 30 participants who will take part in two 3-hour sessions of poem writing, guided by experienced teachers. The poems will focus on positive themes like accomplishment, joy, and gratitude. Researchers will measure the participants' mental well-being and happiness before and after the sessions, along with other factors like feelings of anxiety and depression. There will also be interviews to gather personal experiences from the volunteers.
To be eligible for this study, volunteers must be at least 18 years old, able to understand Cantonese and read Chinese, and currently serve individuals recovering from mental illness or be community residents. Those who are unable to communicate, do not wish to participate, or are involved in similar activities will not be included. This research aims to explore the potential of poetry as a helpful tool for enhancing the well-being of those who support patients in their recovery journey.
