ClinConnect Summary
The Refer2Quit clinical trial is designed to help understand how well a new approach, called Refer2Quit, works to support people in quitting smoking. This trial looks at whether this tailored program can help more household members who smoke compared to those receiving standard treatment. The researchers are also interested in learning about the characteristics of both the adult smokers and their children that might affect how well the program works.
To participate in the trial, adults must be at least 18 years old, currently smoke tobacco, and have a working cell phone. Children eligible for the study must be patients at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Participants can expect to receive support and resources aimed at helping them quit smoking. This study is currently recruiting, and it’s a great opportunity for those who want to take steps towards quitting smoking, while also helping researchers learn more about effective tobacco cessation methods.
