ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different types of spinal anesthesia—conventional spinal anesthesia and fractional spinal anesthesia—to see how they affect blood pressure and overall heart function in older patients with hip fractures. The goal is to find out which method is better for managing these patients' health during surgery.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be at least 60 years old and have a hip fracture. They should also be in relatively good health, meaning their overall physical status is classified as ASA ≤ 3 (which refers to a scale doctors use to assess how fit a patient is for surgery). However, patients who are taking blood-thinning medications, those who need general anesthesia instead, or who have certain heart conditions like atrial fibrillation cannot participate. If someone joins the trial, they can expect to receive one of the two types of spinal anesthesia and will be monitored closely for their heart and blood pressure responses during the surgery. This trial is currently looking for participants.
