ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well certain antibiotics work in lung transplant patients during their recovery. After lung transplants, some patients can develop pneumonia, which is a serious infection that can lead to complications. The researchers believe that some patients might not be getting the right amount of antibiotics, or that the antibiotics might not be reaching the lungs effectively due to the surgery and inflammation. To understand this better, the study will look at the levels of antibiotics in the blood and lungs of patients after their surgery.
Eligible participants for this trial are adults over 18 who are receiving a lung transplant for the first time and can give their consent to participate. The study will take place in the intensive care unit at a hospital, where participants will have their antibiotic levels checked at specific times after their surgery. This research aims to improve how antibiotics are used in lung transplant patients, potentially leading to better outcomes and fewer infections.
