ClinConnect Summary
The "Keep On Keep Up Bladder Health" trial, also known as KOKU Bladder, is studying a new digital health program designed to help adults aged 50 and older manage urinary incontinence, which is when someone experiences involuntary leakage of urine. The goal is to develop a user-friendly app that encourages better bladder health through behavior changes. To create this program, the researchers will work closely with older adults, health professionals, and experts through discussions and group meetings in different locations, including Lithuania, Spain, and the UK. After the app is developed, it will be tested with at least 120 participants to see how well it works and how acceptable it is for users.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 50 years old, experience urinary incontinence at least once a month, and have a mobile device like a phone or tablet. You should also be able to understand the local language and sign a consent form. However, if you have serious health issues or specific symptoms like bleeding, you won't be eligible. Participants can expect to engage with the app and provide feedback on its usability while contributing to a solution that aims to improve bladder health for many older adults. The trial also emphasizes important aspects like gender equality and ethical considerations, aiming for a program that can be widely used and beneficial to many.
