ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how using ultrasound can improve the success of a procedure called lumbar puncture in children. A lumbar puncture is when a doctor takes a small amount of fluid from the spine to test for conditions like meningitis. The study will involve children under 18 who are already scheduled for this procedure, as long as their legal guardian gives permission.

If your child participates, they will receive an ultrasound examination of their spine before the lumbar puncture. The goal is to see if this helps the doctors perform the procedure more effectively. Children with certain skin infections, spine problems, or who cannot get consent from a guardian will not be eligible to participate. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and all children, regardless of gender, can take part.
