ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is focused on understanding how effective and safe deep brain stimulation (DBS) is for children with movement disorders like dystonia, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, Tourette syndrome, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. DBS is a treatment that involves implanting a device in the brain to help control abnormal movements. Since there isn't a lot of information available about how well this treatment works for kids, this study aims to collect data from multiple medical centers. By sharing this information, researchers hope to learn more about the outcomes of DBS in children and improve how it's used.

To be eligible for the trial, participants need to be between 0 and 18 years old and must have already received or be scheduled to receive DBS for a neurological movement disorder. Parents or legal guardians will need to give their written consent for their child to join the study. If your child participates, they will be part of a larger effort to gather important data that can help doctors make better decisions about treating young patients with these conditions. The study is currently recruiting participants, and everyone is welcome to join, regardless of gender.
