ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how helpful floor pedal bikes can be for patients who have had injuries like fractures in their thigh (femur), shin (tibia), or ankle. The main goals are to see if it's easy to provide these bikes to patients, how well they help with healing, and to find out how often patients use the bikes at home. If you are eligible to participate, you will receive a pedal bike during your first follow-up appointment after surgery when you’re allowed to start putting weight on your leg again. You’ll also be asked to fill out surveys about your recovery at each follow-up visit.
To be part of this study, you need to be over 18 years old and have had a surgery for a femur, tibia, or certain ankle fractures. You will need to be able to speak English or Spanish, and you will be monitored for a year. However, if you have a more severe fracture or certain nerve injuries, you won't be able to participate. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable information on the benefits of using pedal bikes for recovery from lower body injuries.
