ClinConnect Summary
The Impact Trial is looking into how to better support elementary school students who are facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, especially after the difficulties brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. The trial aims to see if a new strategy called Helping Educational Leaders Mobilize Evidence (HELM) can help schools effectively implement a program known as Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). This program is designed to improve student behavior and learning, but schools often struggle to carry it out properly.
To be eligible for this trial, school districts in Washington State that are committed to using the PBIS program can participate, along with educators who work in public elementary schools within those districts. However, schools that have already used the HELM strategy before will not be included. Participants can expect to be part of a study that evaluates how well this new implementation strategy works in helping students succeed academically and socially. This trial is currently in the recruiting phase, so there is an opportunity for interested schools and educators to get involved.
