ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two types of shockwave therapy to help people with lateral epicondylalgia, commonly known as tennis elbow. This condition causes pain on the outer part of the elbow, weakness in the wrist, and difficulty with everyday activities. The trial aims to compare the safety and effectiveness of radial shockwave therapy and focal shockwave therapy to see which one works better for relieving pain and improving function. Participants will be assessed for pain levels, grip strength, and disability before and after treatment, with follow-up evaluations taking place over six months.
To be eligible for this study, participants should have had pain in their elbow for more than three months and experience pain when gripping objects. Unfortunately, those who are pregnant, have certain medical conditions like diabetes or arthritis, or have recently received specific treatments will not be able to participate. If you join the trial, you will take part in three treatment sessions, each one week apart, and you may receive either one of the shockwave therapies or a placebo treatment that doesn’t involve any active therapy. This study is currently recruiting participants of all genders between the ages of 25 and 66.
