ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different types of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) affect treatment outcomes in people dealing with addiction. Specifically, it looks at two forms of PTSD: regular PTSD and complex PTSD (CPTSD), which often comes from early childhood trauma and tends to have more severe symptoms. The researchers want to find out if having CPTSD makes it harder for patients with substance use disorders (like alcohol or drug addiction) to get better compared to those with just PTSD.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a substance use disorder related to specific substances like alcohol or cocaine. You should also have a diagnosis of either PTSD or both PTSD and CPTSD. If you join, you'll be expected to start a type of therapy called EMDR within the next two months. The trial is currently recruiting participants and is open to people of all genders. If you're interested, you will need to understand Dutch well enough to communicate, and you must give your written consent to take part.
