ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a condition called plantar fasciitis, which causes pain in the bottom of the foot and is a common issue for many people. The researchers want to find out how effective shock wave therapy is for treating this pain when applied either directly to the foot or along the back of the leg. They will compare the results to see which method helps reduce pain, improves foot and ankle function, and enhances overall quality of life for those suffering from this condition.

To participate in the trial, individuals must be between 18 and 65 years old, have been diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, and have been experiencing pain for at least a month. However, pregnant women, people with certain medical conditions like a pacemaker or rheumatoid arthritis, and those with blood clotting issues cannot join. Participants will receive one of the two types of shock wave therapy and will have their progress checked at several points over three months to see how well the treatment is working. This study aims to provide valuable information that could help improve treatment options for plantar fasciitis.
