ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how cannabidiol (CBD), a substance found in cannabis, passes from breastfeeding mothers into their breast milk and potentially into their babies. Currently, there isn’t much information about how CBD affects breastfeeding or if it is present in breast milk. The researchers want to learn more about this, especially since many young adults in France, including a significant number of women, are using CBD.
To participate in the study, women must be over 18 years old, currently breastfeeding, and using CBD. They will need to give their written consent to join. Unfortunately, women who do not understand French well or have certain mental health conditions that affect their participation cannot take part in the study. If eligible, participants can expect to have their blood and breast milk tested at different times during breastfeeding, and the researchers will also check if CBD is found in the urine of their babies. This study aims to provide important information about the safety and effects of CBD for breastfeeding mothers and their children.
