ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to understand the connection between aortic stiffness and oxidative stress in adolescent male football players. Aortic stiffness refers to how flexible the aorta, the main artery in the body, is, while oxidative stress is a condition that occurs when there are too many harmful molecules in the body. The researchers want to see if there are differences in these factors between young football players and healthy boys who don’t play sports. They will also investigate how a single intense workout affects these measurements in football players.
To participate in this study, young males aged 14 to 18 who are currently playing football and have been training regularly for at least one season can apply. However, those who are female, participate in other sports, or have any chronic or musculoskeletal health issues that prevent them from exercising will not be eligible. Participants will take part in a challenging exercise session, and their blood will be taken before and after the workout to measure oxidative stress levels. This research aims to provide insights that may help improve the health and training of young athletes.
