ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a method called membrane stripping to see if it is as effective as using a double balloon catheter for helping the cervix prepare for labor, which is known as cervical ripening. The trial includes women who are at least 18 years old, have a cervical opening of at least 1 cm, are full-term in their pregnancy, and are planning for a vaginal delivery. However, women with certain conditions, like a ruptured water bag or those who are having twins, will not be eligible to participate.
If you decide to join the study, you will be monitored to see how well membrane stripping works compared to the balloon method. Researchers will look at how long it takes for your body to prepare for labor, how long the delivery takes, and how both you and your baby are doing during and after the process. This study is currently recruiting participants, so if you meet the criteria and are interested, you could play a role in helping improve labor induction practices for future mothers.
