ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how hyperthyroidism, a condition where the thyroid gland produces too much hormone, affects kidney function. Researchers want to learn about both subclinical hyperthyroidism (where symptoms are mild or not noticeable) and overt hyperthyroidism (where symptoms are more severe) in people aged 18 to 80. The study is important because understanding the effects of hyperthyroidism on the kidneys can help doctors better manage these patients' health.
To participate in the trial, individuals must be diagnosed with either subclinical or overt hyperthyroidism. However, certain people are not eligible, including those with diabetes, high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease, heart disease, or those taking specific medications that can influence kidney function. If someone qualifies and chooses to participate, they can expect to undergo assessments to evaluate their kidney health in relation to their thyroid condition. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into the relationship between hyperthyroidism and kidney function.
