ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to help people who have had a stroke and are experiencing difficulties with speaking. Specifically, it’s testing whether using a smartphone app for speech therapy at home is more effective than the usual care provided in clinics. Participants will be randomly assigned to either use the app or be on a waitlist for the therapy, helping researchers understand how well this mobile approach works.
To take part in the study, participants should be between the ages of 65 and 74 and need to be comfortable using a smartphone app for their speech therapy. It's important that they speak English as their first language. However, those with severe speech issues that prevent app use, or those with certain neurological or severe mental health conditions, will not be eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive guidance on how to use the app, and your progress will be monitored to see how well the therapy is working for you. This study aims to potentially offer a more accessible way for stroke survivors to improve their speech at home.
