ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different levels of caregiver involvement can help reduce alcohol use among teenagers aged 12 to 17 who show mild to moderate signs of alcohol use problems. Alcohol is a common issue for teens, and many don’t get the help they need. The trial will compare three approaches: no involvement from caregivers, a single in-person session, or an online program that caregivers can complete at their own pace. Researchers want to find out which method is most effective in helping teens cut down on alcohol use and how it affects their overall well-being and other substance use.
To be eligible for the study, participants must be between 12 and 17 years old, have mild to moderate alcohol use issues, and be fluent in English. The study is not yet recruiting, but once it starts, teens will have the opportunity to participate in interventions designed to support them in reducing their alcohol use. The findings from this trial will help shape better support programs in primary care settings for young people facing alcohol-related challenges.
