ClinConnect Summary
The Community Navigators trial is a study aimed at helping adults with serious mental health issues, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression, who may feel lonely or socially isolated. The researchers at Temple University are testing a program that connects participants with community navigators—people who can guide them to resources and support in their community. This study will help determine if this approach is effective and how it can benefit individuals dealing with mental health challenges.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 18 years old, speak and understand English, and have a diagnosed serious mental illness. They should also live in a place where they can come and go freely. If someone is unable to give consent themselves, like if they have a legal guardian, they won't be able to participate. Although the study is not recruiting participants yet, those who join can expect to receive support and resources to improve their social connections and overall mental well-being.
