ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to detect fluid build-up in the abdomen of patients who have recently had liver surgery. The researchers want to see how well a remote ultrasound technique, called telementored eFAST, can find this fluid compared to the traditional ultrasound done by a radiologist. Participants will receive an ultrasound exam while being guided in real-time by an expert from a distance, allowing them to assess how effective and accurate this method is.
To be eligible for the trial, patients must have had laparoscopic liver surgery at the Oslo University Hospital within the last 72 hours. Unfortunately, those with certain infections or significant pain that could worsen from the ultrasound pressure won't be able to participate. If you join the study, you can expect a supportive environment where your health care team will be closely monitoring how well this new ultrasound approach works. This research aims to improve how doctors can check for complications after surgery.
