ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Chicas Fuertes 2," is looking to help Latina teenagers become more active. The study will include 200 girls aged 13 to 17 who are currently not getting enough physical activity. If you or someone you know identifies as Latina, is a patient at FHCSD, and is not meeting the recommended activity level of at least 60 minutes of exercise on most days, you might be eligible to participate.
Participants will be chosen by their primary care doctors and will be split into two groups. One group will receive special support, including a counseling session, a personalized website, a Fitbit to track their activity, weekly text reminders, and access to a study Instagram account for motivation. The other group will only receive the Fitbit. The study lasts for 12 months, and it offers a great opportunity for teens to increase their physical activity in a fun and supportive way!
