ClinConnect Summary
The Fit2Play study is looking at how a special afterschool program, which takes place in local parks, can help young people improve their fitness and mental health. This program encourages kids to be active and engage in physical activities, which can be beneficial for issues like being overweight, feeling anxious or depressed, and not having enough physical fitness. The research is being conducted by Miami-Dade County Parks and Recreation, and Duke University is analyzing the data collected from the participants in this study.
To be part of this research, young people need to be enrolled in the Miami-Dade Fit2Play program. The study is open to everyone in this program, regardless of age or gender. Participants can expect to take part in fun activities in the park, which could help them feel better both physically and mentally. This study is currently recruiting participants, so if you know someone who is involved in the Fit2Play program, they may be eligible to contribute to this important research.
