ClinConnect Summary
The ARCH trial is studying a new program called Aspirational Rehabilitation Coaching, designed to support first-time stroke survivors and their family caregivers after they leave the hospital. This program combines education, emotional support, and practices that promote self-compassion to help participants deal with the challenges they face in their mental and emotional well-being. The goal is to improve their quality of life, resilience, and ability to feel hopeful and independent.
To join the study, participants must be at least 21 years old, recovering from their first stroke, and able to communicate in English or Mandarin. They should have mild to moderate stroke symptoms and have been discharged from the hospital within the last three months. Each participant also needs a family caregiver who can join them in the program. Throughout the study, participants can expect to engage in various supportive activities that aim to enhance their emotional health and strengthen their relationship with their caregiver. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it is important to note that individuals with severe cognitive issues or language difficulties may not be eligible to participate.
