ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how training primary care providers (like doctors and nurse practitioners) in a special communication technique called motivational interviewing (MI) can be improved using artificial intelligence (AI). MI helps healthcare providers engage with patients in a way that encourages them to take an active role in their care. The study will involve three groups: one group will receive standard training, while the other two groups will receive different amounts of AI-enhanced training. Researchers believe that this new approach will not only help patients feel more involved in their healthcare but also support the well-being of the healthcare providers and reduce any biases they may have.
To participate in this trial, providers must work in primary care settings within the Premier Physician Network in southwest Ohio. They need to agree to take part in the study by providing informed consent. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but once it begins, those involved can expect to receive training and participate in interviews and focus groups to share their experiences with the MI approach. This will help researchers understand what works well and what challenges providers face when using this method in their everyday practice.
