ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a special program called Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) adapted for use in Vietnamese Buddhist pagodas. The goal is to see if this program can help reduce symptoms of depression and improve the quality of life for people facing these challenges. Since many people in Vietnam may find it hard to access traditional mental health services due to stigma or a lack of professionals, this study aims to implement mental health support in a familiar and supportive environment. The trial will involve adults aged 18 and older who show signs of moderate depression, specifically those with certain scores on a depression questionnaire.
Participants in the study will be divided into two groups: one will receive the MBCT program, while the other will continue with standard Buddhist meditation practices. Over four months, researchers will assess how each group is doing in terms of their depression levels and overall quality of life. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but if you're an adult with moderate depression symptoms, you might be eligible to join. The researchers hope to find out if this approach is effective and acceptable for those involved, which could lead to better mental health support in the future.
