ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how injuries to the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL), a key ligament in the knee, affect muscle function in futsal players. Researchers want to understand a condition called Anthrogenic Muscle Inhibition (AMI), which can reduce muscle strength, especially in the vastus medialis muscle, in players who have had an ACL injury compared to those who have not. The trial will involve 54 players, with half having suffered an ACL injury and half being injury-free. They will be assessed at different times during the season using strength tests and imaging to learn more about how injuries impact sports performance and recovery.
To participate in this study, players need to be between 18 and 45 years old, have played futsal for at least two years, and must be part of the Spanish National League or the Madrid Futsal Federation. It's important that they haven't had any other significant knee injuries or surgeries, and they should not have any serious health issues that could interfere with the study. Participants can expect to undergo strength tests and assessments throughout the trial, contributing valuable information that could help improve treatment and recovery for ACL injuries in athletes.
