ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how gastric ultrasound can help doctors assess the stomach in patients with diabetes who are scheduled for elective surgery (surgery that is planned in advance, rather than an emergency). The goal is to see if using ultrasound can provide important information about the stomach's condition before surgery, which might help improve patient safety and outcomes.
To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old and preparing for elective surgery. However, there are some restrictions: you cannot have serious health issues, a very high or low body weight, certain stomach conditions, or be taking specific medications that may affect how your stomach works. If you join the trial, you can expect to undergo a gastric ultrasound as part of your pre-surgery evaluation, which is a non-invasive test that uses sound waves to create images of your stomach. The study is currently looking for participants, and your involvement could contribute to valuable insights for better care of diabetic patients undergoing surgery.
