ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how food insecurity—meaning not having enough healthy food—affects women living in slums in Pune, India. Researchers want to know if not having enough food influences whether these women get the healthcare they need during pregnancy, childbirth, and after having their babies. They are also interested in how this food insecurity might affect the health and growth of their infants.

To be eligible for the study, women must be between 18 and 49 years old, have children who are under 2 years old, and have lived in a slum for at least three years. Participants will fill out questionnaires about their living conditions, healthcare access, and what they feed their babies. They will also have their height and weight measured, along with their partner’s and their child’s. Additionally, the study will include group discussions to better understand the women’s experiences and views on using maternal healthcare services. This trial is currently looking for participants to join in.
