ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a treatment called Cryoneurolysis, which uses extreme cold to target nerves, might help reduce pain after surgery for patients getting an autograft ACL reconstruction. This type of surgery repairs a knee ligament using a tendon from the patient's own body. If you choose to participate, you will be randomly assigned to one of two groups: one will receive standard care, while the other will receive standard care plus Cryoneurolysis treatment about a week before surgery. The goal is to see if Cryoneurolysis can help reduce the amount of pain medication needed after the surgery.
To be eligible for the trial, you must be at least 14 years old, able to speak and read English, and not have used opioids (strong pain medication) before the surgery. Participants will have standard surgical care and will need to bring any leftover pain medication to follow-up appointments for review. Additionally, you will fill out a survey about your knee's activity and function during these visits. The study will continue until the 12-week follow-up appointment after your surgery.
