ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on improving the skills of nursing students when it comes to assessing and communicating with patients who experience auditory hallucinations, which are sounds or voices that are not actually present. The study will use virtual reality (VR) technology to create realistic training scenarios, allowing nursing students to practice their skills in a safe and controlled environment. The goal is to help these students become more effective in understanding and managing patients who have these experiences.
To participate in this study, nursing students who are about to start their psychiatry practicum can join, provided they are willing to sign a consent form and use a smartphone to access the VR materials. It's important to note that individuals with hearing or vision impairments will not be eligible to participate. While the study is not yet recruiting participants, those who take part can expect to engage with innovative teaching resources that could enhance their future work in mental health care.
