ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how doctors and patients can work together to make better decisions about prescribing antibiotics in hospitals. The goal is to find ways for patients and their healthcare providers to discuss the need for antibiotics, especially when treating infections. By involving patients more in these conversations, the trial hopes to improve the way antibiotics are prescribed, which can help prevent problems like antibiotic resistance.
To participate in this trial, patients must be at least 16 years old, have received antibiotics for a bacterial infection during their hospital stay, and be able to understand English. Doctors involved in the study need to be senior medical professionals working with hospitalized patients and also able to communicate in English. If you join the trial, you can expect to take part in discussions about your treatment and share your preferences regarding antibiotic use. This research is important because it aims to improve patient care and ensure antibiotics are used wisely.
