ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to manage pain during brain surgery for patients with supratentorial tumors—tumors located above the tentorium, a membrane in the brain. Instead of using traditional opioids, which can cause side effects like constipation, nausea, and difficulties in breathing, the trial is testing an "opioid-free anesthesia" approach. This method combines different medications to help control pain and reduce the risk of these side effects, aiming to help patients recover faster and spend less time in the hospital.
To participate in this study, patients should be between 18 and 65 years old and scheduled for brain surgery with general anesthesia. They should also be in relatively good health, as assessed by their doctor. However, individuals with a high body weight, severe liver or kidney problems, or certain other medical conditions may not be eligible. Participants will receive the opioid-free anesthesia and will be monitored closely to see how well it works and how safe it is. This research is important because it could change how pain is managed during brain surgeries, leading to better outcomes for patients.
