ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how effective a free computer-based training program called Sound Success is for adults who have received cochlear implants. The study aims to see if using this program helps improve their ability to understand speech and enhances their overall quality of life during the first year after getting their cochlear implant. Participants will be compared to those who are following the regular training methods currently in use.
To be eligible for this trial, you need to be an adult with significant hearing loss in both ears and be receiving a cochlear implant at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. However, if you are getting a second implant or if you cannot use a computer, you won’t be able to participate. The trial is open to individuals of any gender, and the training program is available in several languages, including English and Spanish. If you join the study, you can expect to engage with the Sound Success program and provide feedback on how it helps you with your hearing and daily life.
