ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how watching a short movie before an endoscopy can help reduce fear and anxiety in children aged 9 to 12 who are having this procedure for the first time. The goal is to see if this video training makes the experience less scary and more satisfying for the child. The study will take place at Mersin University Hospital and will involve measuring the child’s heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing before and after the procedure. Parents and nurses will also help assess how anxious the child feels before and after the endoscopy.
To be eligible for this study, children must be between 9 and 12 years old, speak and write in Turkish, and have no communication issues. They should be having the endoscopy for the first time and will be receiving sedation during the procedure. It’s important that both the child and their parent are willing to participate. Children with disabilities, previous endoscopies, or chronic illnesses will not be part of the study. If you think your child might benefit from this trial, it could be a great opportunity to help ease their fears about the procedure.
