ClinConnect Summary
The THRIVE trial is studying a special program designed to help Black adults who are misusing opioids (like prescription painkillers) and stimulants (such as cocaine or meth). The goal is to see if this program can improve people’s understanding of overdose risks and teach them how to prevent and respond to overdoses effectively. The researchers want to know if participants will feel more confident and willing to share what they learn with others who might be at risk.
To be part of this study, you need to identify as Black or African American, live in the study areas, and have misused stimulants or opioids in the past six months. If you join, you can expect to take part in educational sessions where you’ll learn important information and skills. It’s important to note that if you don’t identify as Black or African American, or if you’ve already participated in another part of this study, you won’t be eligible to join. This trial is currently looking for participants, and it aims to make a real difference in the lives of those affected by substance use.
