ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how a special program called PEERS can help teenagers and young adults with rare neurodevelopmental disorders improve their social skills. Many young people with these disorders may feel lonely or struggle to make friends, which can lead to issues like anxiety and depression as they grow up. By participating in this program, the hope is that these young individuals will learn better social skills and build stronger relationships, which could help reduce their risk of mental health problems in the future.

To be eligible for this study, participants should be between the ages of 12 and 30 and have a rare neurodevelopmental disorder. They need to be able to communicate verbally and have a family member or friend also joining the program. Participants will take part in the PEERS program, and their progress will be monitored to see how well their social skills improve. It’s important to note that those with severe mental health issues or significant intellectual disabilities will not be included in this study. Overall, this trial aims to understand the benefits of social skills training for this specific group of young people.
