ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different medications, intravenous (IV) tramadol and magnesium sulphate, to see which one is more effective in preventing shivering during spinal anesthesia for patients undergoing certain surgeries. Shivering can be a common reaction after anesthesia, and the goal of this study is to find the best way to manage it.
To participate in this trial, individuals should be between the ages of 76 and 91 and have an ASA physical status of I or II, meaning they are generally healthy or have mild medical issues. However, people with serious health problems, allergies to the medications being tested, or certain conditions that make spinal anesthesia unsafe will not be eligible. If you decide to participate, you will receive one of the two medications before your surgery, and the research team will monitor you for any side effects and the effectiveness of the treatment.
