ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how using a mobile application can improve the knowledge and skills of nursing students when it comes to administering medications to children. Safe medication practices are crucial, especially for pediatric patients, as they are more vulnerable to medication errors due to their unique developmental needs. The trial aims to see if a technology-based approach can make learning about medication administration more engaging and effective for nursing students, helping them better prepare for their future roles in patient care.
To participate in the trial, candidates need to have a smartphone, internet access, and agree to complete all sections of the mobile app. Those who have already taken courses on medication administration are not eligible. Participants can expect to use the mobile app to enhance their learning about giving medications through different methods, such as intravenous (IV), intramuscular (IM), and subcutaneous (SC) routes, which are common areas where mistakes can happen. This study is important as it may lead to better training methods for nursing students, ultimately improving patient safety for children in healthcare settings.
