Blood Sugar Measurement Exhaled Air

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking into a new way to measure blood sugar levels for people with type 2 diabetes by analyzing their breath. Previous studies suggested that certain compounds in exhaled air can predict blood glucose levels accurately. The goal of this current study is to gather more data to help refine a special device, called the Module In a Box, that can provide non-invasive glucose readings from breath samples. Researchers at Toulouse University Hospital are collaborating with the company BOYDSense to test this technology on patients living with type 2 diabetes.

To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and either have type 2 diabetes or be overweight or obese. It's important to be able to give consent and to be covered by social security. Participants will help in developing and testing a new algorithm that interprets breath samples to estimate blood glucose levels. The study is currently recruiting, and anyone interested should be aware that those with respiratory infections, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, and those under legal guardianship cannot participate. This innovative approach could change how blood sugar is monitored in the future, making it easier and less invasive for patients.
