ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how following a Mediterranean diet during pregnancy and the first two years of a child’s life might impact the child’s brain development and behavior. The Mediterranean diet includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats, like olive oil, and has been linked to various health benefits. Researchers want to see if this diet can help improve how children think, learn, and behave as they grow, as well as monitor other health factors for both mothers and their infants.
To participate in this study, mothers need to be fluent in Spanish and be having a single baby (not twins or triplets). Unfortunately, if a mother has had fertility treatments, or if there are any serious health issues with the baby, they won’t be eligible. Participants will be divided into two groups: one will follow the Mediterranean diet while the other won't change their eating habits. Throughout the study, researchers will check in at different times to assess the child’s growth and development. If you join, you’ll be contributing to important research that could help improve the health of future families!
