ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into the connection between frailty and inflammation in patients who have suffered a hip fracture. Researchers want to find out if older patients (aged 65 and above) who are frail have higher levels of certain inflammatory markers in their bodies compared to those who are not frail. The goal is to understand how these markers relate to recovery and overall health after a hip fracture.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be over 65 years old, in relatively good health (classed as ASA PS I-III), and able to communicate effectively. However, those with severe memory issues, certain types of fractures, or who decide not to take part will not be included. If you join this trial, you can expect to provide some information about your health and undergo tests to measure inflammation. This study aims to improve care for older adults who experience hip fractures and help healthcare providers understand the role of frailty in recovery.
