ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at patients who have experienced a stroke and are dealing with central facial paralysis, which means they have difficulty moving one side of their face. The study aims to understand the relationship between muscle volume in the face and the severity of their paralysis, as well as any swallowing difficulties they may have. Researchers will evaluate certain facial muscles using ultrasound and gather some basic information about the patients.

To participate, individuals need to be between the ages of 65 and 74, have had a stroke with one-sided facial paralysis, and be able to understand and follow simple instructions. Those with prior facial paralysis, other neurological diseases, or certain medical conditions, like jaw problems, will not be eligible. While this study is not yet recruiting participants, it offers a chance to contribute valuable information that could help improve treatments for others facing similar challenges.
