ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether a short, 7-minute video can help young adults in Canada reduce their alcohol consumption. The video is designed to encourage participants to think about the risks of drinking and how they can manage those risks. Researchers want to see if watching this video makes young adults more likely to set goals for drinking less alcohol and whether those goals actually lead to drinking less over a four-week period.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be between the ages of 19 and 25, currently drink alcohol, and be able to understand English. They also need access to a smartphone or computer with internet. However, people who are under 19, currently in treatment for alcohol use, or pregnant cannot participate. If you join the study, you will be randomly assigned to watch either the PMT video or a video about coffee, and then you’ll fill out some questionnaires about your drinking habits and intentions. This trial aims to help young adults make healthier choices regarding alcohol use.
