ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a program called Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) on patients with asthma. The goal is to see if this therapy can help reduce feelings of anxiety, depression, and shortness of breath (dyspnea) in patients who are currently receiving treatment in the hospital for asthma. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to include adults aged 18 and older who are staying in the chest ward and are willing to take part.
To participate, you should be an adult with asthma, able to communicate effectively, and currently receiving treatment in the hospital. Unfortunately, those under 18, those with communication difficulties, or those hospitalized for reasons other than asthma will not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to engage in a short-term therapy program designed to improve your mental well-being while managing your asthma. This could be a valuable opportunity to enhance both your emotional health and your breathing.
